The Acropora carduus pendant is an exact 3D replicate of an A. carduus fragment grown in a fellow reefers aquarium.  Thriving in deeper water, this species of Coral is a prime example of how corals have evolved to become symbiotic hosts and turn sunlight into power with the help of zooxanthellae! Now as sunlight and heat ever increase upon our planets oceans from anthropogenic consequences, this same ancestral bond between Coral and zooxanthellae has become their demise.  Mass bleaching events which threaten Coral Reefs globally are an ever increasing issue.  Reefined Arts aims to help slow this process by growing and planting resilient super corals which can stand up to these man-made conditions.
